Why Did Granny have to Go??
Why did Granny have to go, I ask?
As my tears are coming fast?
Why did Granny have to go, I cry?
So her smile could brighten up the sky.
Why did Granny have to go, I mourn?
Because her body was so tired and worn?
Why did Granny have to go, I wail?
So her spirit could soar and sail?
Why did Granny have to go, I whine?
Because I thought she was all mine.
Why did Granny have to go, I asked my Mother?
So she could go to Heaven and help others?
Why did Granny have to leave me now?
As I have not yet learned how. . .
Why did Granny have to leave so soon?
Because Heaven has prepared a special room.
A special room for Grannies like mine,
So their smile and love will always shine!
I will weep for you my Granny dear,
But in my heart you will always be near.
I will always remember the good times we had,
And I will always be a little sad.
But, I know you are with Jesus now,
And that someway somehow you will always be with me so; let my tears dry now.
