Sounds of Nature

The silence is disturbed by the moaning of the wind,
a crescendo of sound as all the participants join in.

Nature has loosened her voice; she has many things to say,
The grass softly whispers; the trees shout away.

The lake laps the shore with gentle soothing words of care,
The brook bubbles on with a lullaby to share.

When the mountain speaks up it may be with a roar,
With tears made of boulders; downward they pour.

The river speaks loud and gruff; where it’s water is capped with white,
It mummers low and pleasant where it has slowed from its wild and treacherous flight.

But like a giant army sweeping across the land,
Nature looks to be attacking with her powerful weapons in hand.

Hurricane winds scream at the ground; the trees cry out in pain,
Their limbs are twisted and torn away; it looks like Nature has gone insane.

The sky is filled with blinding flash as the ground is pummeled with awesome fire power,
Now it’s time for the final assault; as Nature unleashes the whirling towers.

Get under ground or get out of the way,
As Nature roars and has its say.
