Punch-less Pokes

49     -      17

The Sooners came out looking like the Big Red of Old,
Eating up the real-estate in this November cold.

Big Sam is back and looking fine,
Patrick scores first as the offense shines.

Second possession and it’s Patrick once more,
It’s fourteen to zip at mark six twenty-four.

The Cowboys mount up and ride down the field,
A pass from Robinson and a T.D. is sealed.

Patrick runs wild but the score goes to Brown,
Now the “D” has to shut the Pokes down.

And stop them they did as the Pokes hit a brick wall,
After four plays at the goal Big “D” owns the ball.

The “O” takes over and pounds away,
Sam tosses it in for the fourth pay day.

Twenty-eight to seventeen after a pick by the Pokes,
So far the Cowboys have not been a hoax.

After the “D” forces a punt, Sam finds Joe-John in the zone,
Thirty-five to seventeen makes the Pokes start to moan.

It’s Patrick again; on a third down play,
Number twenty-three has had a super day.

Sam puts it on the money for his fourth through the air,
To say He’s the man, I think is only fair!

The Cowboys are disarmed and sent on their way,
Back to the range where the deer and antelope play.

A roar in the air means the tigers are loose,
We must set our traps with a real strong noose.

Once they’re caught, we’ll make them wail,
As we tie some knots in their tiger tail!
