Big Red Cherokee
![]() 28 - 21
Third time was a charm as the Sooners started to roll,
Eighty-four yards took them across the Long Horn’s goal.
Big Sam hit Jermaine for the first two Sooner scores,
DeMarco sprints for sixty-five to put us up by one more.
Texas comes right back to tie it at twenty-one,
But the Sooners showed to all they were not done.
Starting at their six the Sooners marched all the way,
At last thirty-five went to Big M. K.
A pick by Reggie stops the next Texas drive,
But, mistakes by the Sooners kept the Horns alive.
With two sixteen left the Horns get the ball,
But the Sooners Big D stands Paul Bunyan tall.
Once again Sam was cool while relying on his bodyguard,
To keep the bad guys away so he could throw for two-hundred-forty-four yards.
Four times the colt was caught by stallions in crimson and cream,
Four times he ate the pig-skin as Sooners in red screamed.
Next week will be a test with the tigers on the prowl,
They’re making a bit of noise with an undefeated growl.
With a Cherokee leading the attack Bevo was branded in red,
May the Horns cry burnt orange tears and find fresh cow paddies in their bed.
