A Sad Day

Remembering my Grandma brings out a smile,
Though she’s been gone a long long while.

She listened to my stories thrilled me with her own,
She was like my best friend who was already grown.

She loved, she laughed and made my life fun,
She was known as "Big Mama" to any and everyone.

It’s been said by many I was the favorite of all,
Looking back through the years I think it’s the right call.

We were pals together the young and the old,
She was much more precious than the purest of gold.

You didn’t argue with this "Big Mama" of mine,
When she stated her beliefs you just said, “that’s fine.”

She showered me with love and put a twinkle in my eye,
It was a very sad day when I had to say goodbye.
