Long~Haul Prayer
Lord, I need Your help for I’m nearing the end of my luck
I’ve been on the road too many hours sitting in the saddle of my galloping truck.
My eyelids are as heavy as mountains my head is beginning to droop,
Very soon in the nighttime darkness I’ve got to catch the westbound loop.
So, pry my eyelids open and from my brain remove the fog,
Tell me what to do when I have to write into my log.
Lord, please take the reins and slow my truck to a trot,
Guide me to a restaurant where the food is nice and hot!
