Walking Together
One day I saw old Satan; he wasn’t in a very good mood,
Being kind of a jokester I said, “scream a little louder dude.”
He glared at me with fiery eyes; which wasn’t a very pretty sight,
If I had not known my Jesus I would have fainted from freight.
But, my Lord was walking with me, just as He said he would,
So, I went up to old Satan and eye to eye we stood.
I said," I know you think you’re bad but it’s not looks I’m talking about,
And odor it isn’t either; though yours is rancid and stout!”
Satan avoided Jesus and said to me in a voice so gruff,
“When I catch you away from your Master, I’ll get you sure enough!”
I just smiled, turned away, and held tighter to the Savior’s hand,
I knew for evermore close to the Lord I must always stand.
