The Lord Said . . .

The Lord said to Moses
"I've got a job for you."
Then from the burning bush
He told him what to do.

He said, "go back to Egypt and
confront the mighty Pharaoh,
Tell him the Lord commanded
that he let His people go."

But Pharaoh's heart was hardened
he said, "no they could not leave."
So the Lord rained down plagues
to make Pharaoh believe.

But still Pharaoh said, "no,"
so the Lord raised His hand,
He said I'll destroy every first born
all across Egypt’s land."

Only then did Pharaoh relent and
send God's people on their way,
Yet, once more his heart was hardened and said
"I'm going to make them pay."

With Pharaohs army charging
God's people began to cry,
They questioned the Mighty Lord
why He brought them here to die?

The Lord said to Moses
"raise your staff and stretch out your hand,
Before you the waters will part
your feet will walk upon dry land."

Pharaohs army charged ahead towards
God's people the chariots made haste,
Until the Lord gave the command
that the sea return to its place.

See how Mighty is our God
how strong is the arm of the Lord,
How easily He humbled mighty Egypt
when His wrath on them He poured.
