Here to Stay
When a young man was I
and I knew everything I needed to know,
I pushed God away
but He would not go.
I pushed Him again and again, I said
“why won’t you leave me alone?”
He said, “I love you even though
your heart is as hard as stone.”
I turned and started to run
to take myself far away,
But God ran with me, He said
“by My side He would always stay.”
I finally ask Him just
what He wanted with me,
He said, “to open my eyes
so the truth I could see.”
I listened to His story and
my heart began to melt,
As deep of love as His
I never before had felt.
I opened my heart to Jesus
for salvation I did pray,
So very thankful I am that
my God would not go away.
