I Cry Out
I cry out to my forgiving Savior
each time I sin anew,
Please, blot out my transgressions
cleanse my heart through and through.
Reach down from Heaven, my Lord
raise my spirits from the muck and grime,
Heal my broken wings
so to wondrous heights once again I may climb.
Don’t let me stray to far; guide me back
like a good shepherd of his flock,
Then, tell me one more time about
the door only You can unlock.
Strengthen me when I’m weak
comfort me when I’m down,
Guide me, oh Light of the world
to trade my cross for a crown.
