 The Jackass in Man
Man’s arrogant nature is
to put himself to the test,
To see if he has what it takes
to be better than the rest.
Our aggressive, competitive spirit
pushes us to the brink,
Yet, if we haven’t thoughtfully prepared ourselves
all our hopes and efforts will sink.
We recklessly put ourselves in danger
we crawl out on the smallest limb,
Without thinking how far we could fall
or that the consequences could be so grim.
That’s our freedom of choice
we can do whatever we please,
Even if we make a jackass
out of ourselves with ease.
