 Dope~the False Hope
How high does the dope take you
and how long does the lie last?
And when you come down
what is the first thing you’re going to ask?
Where can I get some more
so I can get back up?
No matter what the cost
because once just wasn’t enough.
And so starts the cycle
that will destroy another life,
And it will hurt the others it touches
because it cuts like a knife.
So dope isn’t the answer
all it will do is deceive,
So give the Lord a chance
and try what I believe.
For I know a better way
a better way of life,
Given to us by God and His son
Jesus Christ.
It will cost you nothing
to become a member of His fold,
But the benefits you reap
are much more precious than gold.
Your life will shine much brighter
you will have abundant peace and joy,
If you’ll only give your life to Jesus
so with Him you can live in glory.
