All Shook Up
When I was an unbeliever
as so many are today,
I thought the church was silly
so no attention did I pay.
I knew nothing about the Father
or why Jesus died for me,
It seemed they spoke in riddles
when they said Christ would set me free.
I was not bound with rope or chain
or confined to a tiny cell,
I did not understand when
they told me I was going to Hell.
I was just a good ‘ole boy
looking to have some fun,
I charged out to see the world
turning my back to the only Son.
I found my worldly pleasure
and grabbed it by the tail,
It shook me like a rag doll
then on top of me it fell.
The more I struggled against it
the heavier it seemed to be,
Until I repented of my sins
and Jesus set me free.
