A Place
For many years I thought
Earth was my home,
But, now I know
it’s just a place to roam.
A place of wonder
for a curious youth,
A place to start
our search for truth.
A place to observe
Nature’s ways,
A place to enjoy
warm spring days.
A place of valleys
and towering trees,
A place of mountains
and roaring seas.
A place to play
our youthful games,
A place to learn
our temper to tame.
A place to grow
and become mature,
A place of pain
we must endure.
A place we learn
good and bad,
A place of choices leaving us
happy or sad.
A place we find
romance and love,
A place we find
our God above.
We walk this way
just one time,
If we find salvation to Heaven
we’ll climb.
For our Lord, our God
is still in control,
And will reward us
with an immortal soul.
