A Companion for the Lonesome Road
How long have you been traveling
the long and lonesome road?
Wearily staggering along
under your heavy and burden-filled load.
You feel so all alone
even though your life is filled with “friends”
They’re your friends until it’s an inconvenience
then their regrets they have to send.
But such is our lot in life
our humanness dictates it to be so,
We were flawed when we were born
and so easily does it show.
But there’s help ready and waiting
if you’ll just Speak the magic words,
And ask for the help of Jesus
the sweetest name that’s ever been heard.
Just give your burden to Jesus
and he’ll help you carry your load,
As he leads you on the right path
and tells you the greatest story that’s ever been told.
