 The Journey
There’s a journey we all will make, not knowing when or where it will end.
But the end is not our goal but the time in between we spend.
You can tell if you’re having a good journey if you’re excited by the places you see,
And continue to mark new milestones; while avoiding a life of drudgery.
But sadly the latter is usually true; and we settle for pittance of our worth,
Our lives loses all its luster; and we become as dull as the sun-baked earth.
Our relationships are one and the same; as we let the spark burn low,
We take each other for granted; so our love can’t continue to grow.
Then we put up a wall to insulate us from the pain,
Soon our feelings are dulled and our love begins to drain.
So, to have an enjoyable journey; we need our eyes open wide,
To notice any subtle changes; so we can have a smooth and loving ride.
We also need to be less rigid, more flexible, and at ease,
And the long life’s journey; will be like riding a gentle breeze.
