 Only a Dime
You’ve been standing in line forever
with only one item in hand,
When you hear the most dreaded words
come from the checkout stand.
They call for a price check
for the computer and shelf price don’t agree,
When everything is said and done
ten cents is the only difference they see.
I know the prices should be the same
but to worry and fret over a dime,
I’d gladly pay the difference
if only they’d stop wasting my time.
