Mountain Slide
28 - 48
The O started slow with Sam getting whacked,
Big “D” bent a little but the goal couldn’t be cracked.
Dazed and confused by the Mountaineer’s defense,
The O seems uptight and maybe a little tense.
This time Big “D” was breached; broken like a stick,
By a white guy with a Mohawk moving like a giant brick!
Going from bad to worse a receiver tiptoes to a T.D.
Not one red jersey could we even see.
At least one small victory a blocked F.G. at the half,
The game now depends on the minds of the coaching staff.
We finally get a T.D. but West Virginia counters with two,
Unless we pick up the pace, this poem is now through.
I guess Coach Stoops has now seen the light,
And knows that something is not quite right.
For he said he needs to change some things,
So, we’ll wait and see what the new year brings.
Even though three times this year we have cried,
We never once lost our Big Red Sooner Pride!
To close this season I want everyone to hear,
The “Okie Poet” said just wait till next year!!!
