A Tale of Two Halves
![]() 58 - 35
Two Quick scores and it looks to be a rout,
But the Achilles' Heel cast a doubt.
The “O” is like a rocket The “D” a model “T”.
Come on Sir Venables, “what don’t you see?”
It’s a cross- country race; we need a detour some where,
At least a speed-bump or maybe a pair.
A detour it was as the ball comes loose.
As another T.D. helps to tighten the noose.
A big interception helps to turn the tide,
As the Wild Cats fans their faces they hide.
Jackrabbit, Broyles, takes a punt to the house,
While the purple clad fans are quiet as a mouse.
Thirty-five points even in a dream,
Is way too many from a mild-cat team.
At lest Sir Venables said, “He saw the mess,”
Now can he repair it to pass the test?
Fifty-five in the first; just three after that,
From a cruise missile to a bicycle running on a flat.
Maybe one day they’ll play a whole game,
That day the score board will never be the same.
The Huskers are coming; they better bring a change of clothes,
The Sooners are going to strip them as the Okie wind blows!
Go Sooners!!!
