Back and forth this battle does rage,
Between light and darkness on the cott0on bowl stage.
From Sam to Grisham to Boyles for a very unusual T.D.
The feared “Achilles Heal” dares to show its face,
Why not an on-side kick and avoid the cross-country race.
Gresham doesn’t need any help this time,
As 21-10 the score does climb.
I’d like to know where the refs are from,
Are they blind, crooked, or just plain dumb?
They’re attacking the middle now that Reynolds is out,
The rest of the “D” must play hard and stout!
Down at the ten with only 4:02,
Can the old Sooners’ magic come and pull us through?
Like the flowers without rain; the Sooners wilted in the sun,
Dreams of an unbeaten season are now over and done.
These Sooners won’t hang their heads; they’ll work hard and pick up the pace,
There’s no time to cry and moan; we’re still in the Big Twelve Race!
Next week the jayhawks are flying into town,
One thing we know for sure; the Sooners won’t be down!!!
Go Sooners!!!!!
