Two Can be Lonely
I’ve heard that one is the loneliest number
but that might not always be true,
For without love between a couple
one is no lonelier than two.
That’s why lives that are lived together
are lives that are meant to be shared,
But if one is selfish and immature
it will be unwilling or unable to care.
So, more will the indifference grow
feelings drifting farther apart,
Until one day all that is left
is two hard and uncaring hearts.
Yes, two can be as sad as one
when their thoughts and feelings are wrong,
And it’s always such a shame
to hear two people sing the same sad and lonely song.
