The Long Ago Past
I like to drift away and remember
the long ago past,
When we were young and madly in love
and time went by too fast.
Each day I could hardly wait
to feel your warm embrace,
To breathe your heavenly scent
as your honey-sweet lips I would taste.
Though, your image was forever
locked into my memory,
Still my eyes adore you, gazing upon
my love they had to be.
I always wanted you close
as I was always afraid you might run away,
And leave me alone and stranded
in a world of dark and gray.
