TOO YOUNG THE WARRIOR
The Spirit Guide watches helplessly
as the arrow leaves the bow
He knows it lacks the power and the revenge the mighty bear will show.
His muscles tense in anticipation
as he prepares to join the fray,
But he remembers why he is here
to take the boy-warrior’s spirit home today.
He urges the young warrior to flee for he has attacked a formidable foe,
But he bravely meets the charge
much courage does the young one show.
But wisdom and experience he doesn’t possess
too quickly a warrior he wants to be,
Tears cloud the Spirit Guides eyes
as he is saddened by the waste he has to see.
