THE SUBTLE INVASION
We have learned from other villages daily more white men arrive,
They have showed us wonders but from our people
the land they are beginning to deprive.
As the white people’s numbers increase
so does their attitude towards us,
For now we are dealt with unfairly now we are treated unjust.
Daily our conflicts do mount
I see no cure for the problem that ails,
Because the white man and our people we ride on different trails.
Now war is our only recourse
we will fight till the hills run red,
Fight for our ancestors’ land
fight till our people all lay dead.
