 THE PASSAGE
The time is now upon me
Great Spirit of the skies,
To prove my self a man
and a warrior in my peoples eyes.
Give me strength Oh Great Spirit
and courage so I will not fail,
Give me wisdom beyond my advisory
so a warrior’s story I can tell.
And if I pass the test and a warrior
I do make,
Remind me to always be humble
for all the credit I cannot take.
For my elders taught me well
they had patience for my youthful ways,
Now with guidance from the Great Spirit
I’ll be a manfor the rest of my days.
