 A WARRIOR’S PRAYER
Oh Great Spirit
hear this warriors plea,
Rid my mind of malice
fill it with thoughts from thee.
Just as I cleanse my body
also cleanse my heart of deceit,
So my spirit will be able to hear you, when words of wisdom from the Heavens you speak.
Guide me on the hunt
let my arrows be straight and true,
So my village can feast again
and rejoice and sing praises to you.
Let my eyes see the goodness
of all things your hand has made,
Teach me to always be just
for with justice, is how I will be repaid.
Let my courage never falter
let me always be brave and true,
Let me live my life with honor
so honor I can bring to you,
Let me learn from all your creatures as our lives are lived side by side,
So better I can understand you
and all your secrets in me you can confide,
And lastly Oh Great Spirit
until the end of my days,
Help me to raise my children
in your all-knowing and wondrous ways.
