In Too Much of a Hurry!
When a baby is born
their life is put in a hurry,
If they don’t reach their next step
the fastest we immediately begin to worry.
We cheer when they roll over to sit-up
is cause to celebrate.
For them to reach the next stage
we just can’t seem to wait.
Then they take their first step
and our dreams begin to grow,
For in them is greatness
is what the first step will show.
And so it goes
throughout their growing years,
We push and prod and occasionally
cause some tears.
Although it’s our job
to help the kids along,
To see that they grow morally
straight and strong.
They need to be able to grow
at their own pace,
So they don’t think growing up
is just one big race.
So patience we must have and time
we must make,
Before the road to adulthood
our little ones take.
