I’m Hungry
I don’t know why it’s true
but it’s a well-known natural fact,
Whenever you visit Nanny’s house
your stomach doesn’t know how to act.
It doesn’t really matter
whether it’s been an hour or a day,
When it gets to Nanny’s house
we know just what it’s going to say,
Nanny, I’m hungry
what have you got to eat?
I don’t care if it’s chicken
or something nice and sweet.
And even the big kids don’t seem
to be immune,
To the strange and eerie phenomena
of being hungry at Nanny’s too soon.
