Backyard Smiles
My backyard was smiling again
because the little ones came to play,
The happy sounds of children chases
the loneliness away.
From the swing set to the trampoline
to digging in the dirt,
The backyard was so happy, you could see
where it hugged them on their shirt.
I know, me and nanny were thrilled
to have them here,
It filled our hearts with joy, just
to have the little ones near.
We hope they return really soon
to keep the twinkle in our eyes,
Besides it makes us unhappy to see
the backyard as it cries.
