Dreams for the Future
Dream for the sky young fathers
dream the mighty deeds you son will do.
Just don’t be disappointed if all
your dreams don’t come true.
For they don’t have to have
their name in the paper or win any kind of award,
But being a good citizen is
enough on it’s own accord.
So be proud if they’re honest
and compassion to others they show,
If they honor God and country
if their responsibilities they do know.
Because your son will have dreams of his own
he’ll have to live his life for himself,
But a caring and loving father will be
there if he needs any help.
For that’s the roll of the father
to advise and guide his son,
So he can say with happiness
his best he has surely done.
For now let them ride their broom-stick horse
and play their imaginary games,
There’s time enough when they get older
to make you proud of their name.
